ABOUT Candace Powell Kinard

I partner with organizations to help students and families to obtain financial aid and scholarships using strategies that avoid or reduce student loans.

If you have student loan debt, I help to unveil strategies to potentially lower the payment and/ or set you on a path toward loan forgiveness.

With 30+ years of experience in post-secondary preparation, I am a Certified Financial Educator, a Certified College Access Advisor and an Educational Consultant inspiring organizations, and students, and their families to bring educational dreams to life. My rich past experience includes:

• Working in college admission at Arcadia University,

• Managing and creating new access program initiatives,

• Supervision of school based practitioners, and

• Managing college access centers for a non-profit in Philadelphia

• Advising borrowers toward lower loan payments and strategies toward loan forgiveness

I have extensive experience in providing direct service to middle school, high school and adult students including low income and first-generation students. I am an active member and have presented at NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling) and PACAC conferences and served as a NACAC delegate for four years. Profiled in PACAC’s newsletter the PACER, I am currently the chairperson for the Philadelphia NACAC, National College Fair a scholarship reader for two scholarship programs and has been a faculty member in the PACAC Summer Institute.

My passion for the issue of access to higher education can be seen through her work as an Advisory Council member for the Philadelphia College Prep Roundtable, a networking organization for college preparatory professionals, Villanova’s Undergraduate Advisory Council, and other higher education advisory committees in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
