Full Time Academic Scholarships may be awarded to new entering students with no more than 12 credit hours at Athens State University who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and leadership. Requirements: 3.5 minimum GPA; Students selected for this scholarship must enroll in at least 12 hours in the fall and spring semesters and 9 hours in the summer semester. The scholarship is valued up to $4000 per year for two years and may pay up to $1,500 for the fall and spring semesters and $1,000 for the summer semester.

Description
Golf Classic Scholarships
Golf Scholarships may be awarded to a student who demonstrates leadership qualities through clubs and organizations at Athens State or transfer institutions. Funding for this scholarship is provided by the Annual Alumni Association Golf Classic. The scholarship will be made available in two disbursements (fall/spring) and may be applied to tuition, fees and/or books purchased from the University Bookstore. Requirements: 3.0 minimum GPA; be enrolled at least 6 hours; must work 20 hours per semester for the Alumni Association as assigned by the Director of Alumni Affairs. Awards vary from $750-$3000 a year based on proceeds from the tournament. Awards are usually for two academic years depending on student fulfilling requirements and funding levels.

Art Scholarships :
The Athens State University Art Scholarship may be awarded to new entering students who have no more than 12 credit hours at Athens State and who demonstrates outstanding potential as an art major in computer graphics, art education or studio art. Requirements: 2.75 minimum GPA; must meet all Art program prerequisites; must be enrolling in at least 12 hours in both the fall and spring semesters and 9 hours in the summer semester; must upload student essay addressing need and qualifications; must submit three different original works of art completed in the last two years by digital (JPEG) images. The scholarship is valued up to $4000 per year for two years. The scholarship may pay up to $1500 per semester for the fall and spring semesters and $1000 for the summer semester.. Acceptance of the scholarship gives the Alabama Center for the Arts permission to exhibit and or show artwork from the winners. The application deadline for this scholarship is April 9 for award
