Description

Academic Scholarships are awarded to students who are distinguished by records of outstanding academic achievement. Students are selected from their admission application to receive these scholarships. In order to be considered for Academic Scholarships, students must submit their admission application by February 15. For this scholarship, we will consider a student's best scores from the ACT, old SAT and redesigned SAT.

Scholarships are awarded to the students in the top percentage of each class in amounts up to $15,000 per year. The Academic Scholar is expected to complete a minimum of 30 semester hours and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00(B) on all coursework at Samford University. Some scholarships are mutually exclusive and may not be paired with the Academic scholarship.

Description

Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) is an educational program designed to allow young men and women to pursue a commission in the United States Air Force while pursuing a college degree in any academic major. Air Force ROTC scholarships are extremely competitive. To ensure you are a top candidate make sure that you have the highest GPA possible, score well on the ACT or SAT, and stay physically fit to pass the Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA). You will also need to apply and get accepted to a university with an AFROTC program.

Description

The Global Missions Scholarship is designed for incoming freshman students who sense a call to global missions as a vocation, but also may be interested in one of the many areas of study at Samford, such as computer science, nursing, business, or education. We would like to encourage students in developing their natural skills and talents in the classroom, while at the same time, nurturing their desire to use their skills in reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through mentoring, peer discussions, and cross-cultural immersion, this program will assist students in achieving a balanced approach toward preparation for a vocation in missions.

Description

Incoming freshman who list Pre-Business as their major are eligible to apply for the Harry B. Brock Jr. Scholarship. In order to be considered for selection, students must have a composite ACT of 25 or higher and/or a combined SAT of 1150 or more as well as having a minimum of 3.0 high school GPA. Students who receive a scholarship from the Brock School of Business will receive that award for up to four years, provided that they remain a business major and remain in academic good standing.

Description

Samford University?s Preministerial Scholars is an unprecedented preprofessional and scholarship program. Combining the academic study of religion with the practical experience of internships and cadres, the program seeks to equip students for church-related and Christian ministries. Each year, a limited number of merit scholarships are offered to entering freshmen. Priority will be given to applicants who score a minimum of 26 on the ACT; however, qualified individuals with lower test scores are encouraged to apply. Students who are invited to join may receive a scholarship for up to $15,000 annually. Due to the nature of this scholarship, it is mutually exclusive with all other scholarships at Samford, with the exception of the Legacy Scholarship and National Merit Scholarship.
