This includes a $20,000 Presidential Scholarship and a $10,000 AU Honors Scholarship. The AU Honors Scholarship is contingent on recipients maintaining continuous enrollment in the AU Honors Program. Should a scholarship recipient choose to withdraw from the AU Honors Program at any point during the year, the AU Honors Scholarship ($10,000) will be withdrawn, even if students meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress conditions.

Description
FREDERICK DOUGLASS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM -The FDDS program offers a scholarship that provides full tuition, mandatory fees, books, U-Pass, room, and board. It is renewable for a total of four years of undergraduate study, provided scholars maintain a minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA. Historically underrepresented minority students and students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to first-generation student leaders. While we encourage applications from all ambitious, well-rounded student leaders, the most competitive applicants will have a minimum 3.8 GPA (unweighted) or 4.0 GPA (weighted). Submission of ACT or SAT scores are optional.

Eligibility: Students whose parents are employed by one of over 160 colleges participating in the Tuition Exchange Program are eligible to apply for a Tuition Exchange Scholarship.At American University, Tuition Exchange (TE) is a competitive, merit-based scholarship. In order to apply for the scholarship, parents of students applying to the university must contact their university's Tuition Exchange Liaison Officer (TELO).
