The Engaged Citizen Corps is designed to encourage first-year student engagement in community service and social justice work, while integrating these issues into their academic study and coursework.All members accepted into the Corps will receive, at minimum, $3,000 in scholarships and aid. (Includes a $1,770 stipend to be used toward first-year cost of room and board, and a $1,230 AmeriCorps Education Award to be used toward second-year tuition.)

A bequest from Drake alumna Katharine Farber Futch, class of 1940, provides funds to recognize outstanding achievement and potential. Description

The Drake University National Alumni Association awards prestigious scholarships to top students. Applicants do not have to be related to Drake alumni to be eligible for this award. All scholarships are renewable for three additional years if the recipient is enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits each term and maintains the required minimum cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale: Alumni and Carpenter Scholarships 3.25; Trustee Scholarships 2.0. Additionally, Alumni Scholars must live in approved Drake University housing to renew the room and board portion of their full scholarship award.

In 2012, Sheila A. Wolfe, JO?52, a graduate of Drake University and retired long-time executive employee of the Chicago Tribune, established an annual scholarship for an incoming first-year student pursuing an undergraduate degree in News Journalism at Drake. Preference is given to a student graduating from a Chicago area high school, but not required if no such student exists.
