The general application, required to apply for departmental scholarships, is available at http://wku.academicworks.com. The deadline to apply for the following academic year for departmental scholarships is February 1st.

Students selected for departmental scholarships will be notified of the award and the award will be applied to the student?s account.

Description

Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES)
The KEES Scholarship is for Kentucky high school graduates, and is administered by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA). The amount of KEES the student is eligible for is determined while they are in high school.
Students must have graduated from a Kentucky high school to receive any KEES award.
KEES is paid for a maximum of 8 semesters, and must be used within 5 years of the student?s high school graduation.
KEES can be used for fall and spring semesters only, KEES cannot be used for summer or winter terms.
To be considered ?On Track? to graduate, students must earn an average of at least 12 hours per semester.
Students must maintain a minimum gpa of at least a 2.5 and be considered On Track to retain their full KEES. KEES may be cut in half if the student is not considered On Track to graduate, and has a minimum gpa of a 2.5.

Description

Teacher Scholarship Program
The Teacher Scholarship Program provides financial aid to Kentucky students pursuing initial teacher certification at participating Kentucky colleges.
Be a U.S. citizen.
Be a Kentucky resident.
Be admitted into a teacher education program at a participating school.
Be enrolled full-time unless enrolled for the final term of a teacher certification program and less than full-time enrollment is required to complete the program.
Demonstrate financial need.
Meet school?s satisfactory academic progress requirements.
Teach one semester in Kentucky for each semester the scholarship is received.
Repay the scholarship plus interest if does not complete program or service requirement.
