Description

The FIRST Robotics Dean?s List Winners are offered the opportunity to attend either session I or session II of the WPI Frontiers Program. The scholarship will cover the full tuition of either session for the 2018 Frontiers Program, pending approval of his/her Frontiers Application. For those Deans List Winners who are unable to take advantage of the summer offer, but who may be admitted to and enroll at WPI, $2,500 would be applied towards the tuition for undergraduate enrollment in the fall of the freshman year at WPI. Description

Chemistry and Biochemistry Scholars will automatically be selected from all admitted students who indicate chemistry or biochemistry as their intended area of study on their admissions is awarded to. Selection by the Scholarship Committee will be based upon the candidate's academic performance in high school, standardized test scores or Flex Path submission. Students selected for this highly competitive program will be given special access to faculty, research opportunities and visiting scientists. In addition to the scholars program, each Chemistry and Biochemistry Scholar receives an academic merit scholarship.

Description

The ExxonMobil Scholars Program was established through a generous grant by the ExxonMobil Corporation. This scholarship program recognizes outstanding African American, Latino American, or Native American students with superior academic backgrounds seeking a degree in chemical, mechanical, or civil engineering. Students selected as an ExxonMobil Scholar will receive a $7,500 scholarship per year, for up to five years of undergraduate study. Scholars are also invited to a reception hosted by ExxonMobil in their honor.

The WPI Girls Who Code Scholarship was established in 2016 to recognize outstanding young women passionate about solving problems through innovation and technology, and who have excelled in the Girls Who Code program as well as in their academic performance in high school. As part of the partnership with the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, in 2013 WPI established scholarships for VEX Robotics participants. Each year WPI will award a grand prize scholarship and two runner-up scholarships. VEX scholarship candidates must be high school seniors and active VEX team members. Scholarship applicants must be capable of meeting WPI admissions standards, have demonstrated enthusiasm for engineering and science, and possess the ability and innovation necessary to excel as an engineer, scientist, or manager.

Each year, WPI awards a full-tuition, four-year undergraduate scholarship (valued at approximately $190,000) to a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) or FIRST Technical Challenge (FTC) team student participant. Each team participating in the FIRST Robotics Competition or FIRST Technical Challenge may nominate one of its student members for the WPI Design Innovation Scholarship.

In addition to the full-tuition scholarship, WPI offers three $20,000 scholarships ($5,000 per year for four years of undergraduate study) to applicants to the Design Innovation Scholarship who are not selected for the full-tuition award, but whose applications are deemed by the selection committee to be particularly meritorious.
