A number of scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $3,000 have been created by alumna Tami Cotsakos for classical music students in recognition of their outstanding musical talents. Recipients are expected to meet the normal expectations of the Music Department. Scholarships may be renewable for up to four years with full-time status and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

University Honors College Scholarships
All freshmen who are admitted to and enroll in the William Paterson University Honors College receive a $4,000 per year merit scholarship. This award is in addition to any other institutional scholarship. Admission to the University Honors College is highly competitive. Average accepted Honors students for the Fall 2016 class had a 3.90 high school GPA (middle 50% range of 3.73 to 4.02) and 1295 New SAT (middle 50% range of 1240 to 1305) or 1225 Old SAT (middle 50% range of 1180 to 1240 - Critical Reading and Math only). Successful Honors College applicants have also taken honors, Advanced Placement (AP) and/or International Baccalaureate (IB) classes in high school.

Description
William Paterson University Trustee Scholarships range from $3,000 to $8,000 per year and are designed to recognize high-achieving high school students for their academic accomplishments. Minimum criteria are a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA (on a normalized 4.0 scale) and 1130 New SAT scores (or 1050 Old SAT scores, Critical Reading and Math only; WPUNJ does not use the Writing section). Trustee Scholarships are automatically awarded on a first-come first served basis to students who have been admitted to the University; no separate application is required. These awards are packaged with all other sources of merit and need-based financial aid.

All high school seniors admitted to degree programs in music are considered for a limited number of Trustee Talent Scholarships.
