Catawba College is fortunate to have alumni, friends, and businesses who have generously contributed funds to establish named endowments for the purpose of providing scholarship assistance for qualifying students. Following are the funds at Catawba College from which annual Endowed Scholarships are awarded. The funds are part of the college's permanent endowment and are used primarily to fund institutional merit scholarships such as Presidential Scholarships, Trustee Scholarships, and Access Grants. Awards are made annually from the interest earned on the endowment. Named Endowed scholarships may be established with gifts of $25,000 or more

The Burnet Hobgood Theatre Arts Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship is awarded to the incoming student who best demonstrates the most potential in the Department?s long-established mission of 'Changing the Face of the American Theatre.' Established in 2013, the scholarship is to be awarded by the faculty of the Theatre Arts Department in concert with Scholarship and Open House Weekend on November 12. Application procedure is subject to revision by the department and college-wide scholarship policy, but will remain unchanged once performance scholarship dates are set ? usually in the early spring. The Hobgood scholarship competition is by invitation only.
