Description

Each year Lees-McRae College recognizes the scholarly preparation of entering freshmen and transfer students by awarding scholarships and grants based on academic performance. These awards reflect our commitment to helping students set ambitious goals and achieve them. All students are automatically considered for academic scholarships once they are granted admission to the College. Scholarship awards are based only on official transcripts and test scores. No additional scholarship application is required. Academic merit scholarships range from $3000.00 to $10,000.00 annually and are renewable as long as the student maintains the required academic standard.

Description

The Elizabeth McRae Scholarship is awarded by Lees-McRae College and covers full tuition for a full-time student. Two scholarships are available for freshmen entering the College in the fall semester. Recipients are chosen from all students invited to attend Scholar?s Day. Scholar's Day includes interview and essay competition with the top two performers selected as recipients. The scholarship covers tuition and is renewable for four years as long as the recipient(s) maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Description

The Lees-McRae College Humanities Scholarship is designed to assist incoming main campus students planning to major in English, history, or religious studies at Lees-McRae College. Two students will be selected to receive a $2,000 scholarship that is renewable as long as the student remains enrolled at Lees McRae College in good academic standing with a minimum of 3.0 GPA and declared Humanities major of English, history, or religious studies. Scholarship is stackable with other LMC institutional aid.

Description

The Lees-McRae Presbyterian Scholarship, valued at $2,000, is awarded to 20 Lees-McRae students who have been an active member of the Presbyterian Church congregation for a minimum of four years. Selected students must demonstrate participation in church and community service.

Description

The Hart Scholars Program is privately funded and is awarded to one incoming Lees-McRae College student planning to major in a Science or Health Sciences academic program. The selected student must exhibit high school leadership skills and strong moral character as evidenced by service in the community. Scholarship is renewable as long as the student remains enrolled at Lees-McRae College in good academic standing with a minimum of 3.0 GPA and provides demonstration of campus leadership activities.

The Sam and Mary Hart Endowed Scholarship for Science is awarded every two years. The 2017-2018 application will be available in December 2016.

Description

If you are a potential Theatre Arts or Theatre Arts Education major, we offer scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 that require an audition or interview. Scholarships are talent-based and offered to students interested in all areas of the Theatre Arts at Lees-McRae. Performance based merit scholarships may be combined with other academic merit scholarships. Students should visit campus during an Open House (where you can receive a performing arts specific tour!) or contact Danielle Curtis at curtisd@lmc.edu to schedule an audition.
