Many of these scholarships also have criteria related to academic program of study, county of residence, or leadership and involvement in activities. The general scholarship application is required for consideration for these scholarships. Students also must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by January 1 each year in order to be considered for need-based scholarships.

Description
Scholarships are available to new freshmen and transfer students based on academic achievement. Consideration is based on academic records submitted during the admission process. Once students have been admitted to the university, they are automatically considered for Honors College scholarships and Chancellor's Series scholarships. The number of awards offered and the award amounts vary depending on the competitiveness of the class. Offers to new freshmen begin in the fall and offers to new transfer students occurs in late spring.
