Air Force ROTC offers a scholarship program for highly qualified high school seniors as well as students already in college who are interested in commissioning as Air Force officers. Many scholarships pay full tuition, housing and dining, money for books, and a monthly tax-free stipend. AFROTC's in-college scholarship selection occurs during the freshman and sophomore years. Xavier University Army ROTC is the host program for Miami Army ROTC cadets. Cadets attend their academic classes at Miami University and fulfill their military science duties at the Xavier campus in Cincinnati. Description
The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. National Merit Finalists (who are not receiving a National Merit $2,500 scholarship or corporate-sponsored merit scholarship) who list Miami as their first choice school, are eligible to receive a renewable college-sponsored scholarship. Miami University offers college-sponsored scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 depending on financial need.
