Marywood grants Maxis-Gillet Service Awards to undergraduate students, including incoming freshmen, who have demonstrated outstanding service to the community and are commited to continuing that service at Marywood. Marywood University is rooted in a long-standing tradition of service to local, national, and international communities. In addition to providing a variety of service opportunities, Marywood University extends this commitment to community involvement through its Maxis-Gillet Service Award, named in honor of the founders of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother Theresa Maxis, IHM and Father Louis Gillet, CSsR.
A total of twenty $2,500.00 Service Awards are offered annually to full-time undergraduate students, including up to five first year, full-time undergraduate students who already have demonstrated outstanding service to the community and dedication to sustain that service while enrolled at Marywood. Marywood University Trustees' Scholarships are awarded to students with exceptional academic achievements. Marywood University utilizes a number of factors when evaluating admissions applications, including SAT or ACT scores, high school performance, and types of courses completed.

Students receiving this level of scholarship typically have an average SAT of 1208 (Critical Reading and Math) or ACT of 26 and an average high school GPA of 3.89. Both freshmen and transfer students are eligible for consideration for these awards. For transfer students, performance on the postsecondary level is taken into consideration. Typically transfer students must have a minimum postsecondary QPA of 3.50.
