South Carolina HOPE Scholarship is awarded to incoming freshman students who do not meet the eligibility requirements for the SC LIFE, but graduate from a SC high school with a 3.0 high school grade point average. The HOPE is for freshman year only. SC HOPE recipients may receive the LIFE in subsequent years providing that students maintain a cumulative 3.0 college grade point average and complete 30 credit hours per academic year.
