Awarded to incoming freshmen who are graduates of the National Hispanic Institute and who excel both in the classroom and in the community. Criteria include attendance at one or more NHI programs during high school (signed proof of participation from at least one NHI staff member required) and leadership skills.

A limited number of awards are available each year and may amount up to $4,000 annually for each recipient. Applicants must submit an art portfolio to be considered a candidate. Portfolios can be submitted by mailing a CD of images with your application, or by contacting the art department to schedule a portfolio review in person. This award is renewable each year with the endorsement of the art department stipulating a student has met satisfactory performance expectations.

To be considered as a candidate, applicants must have a live audition and interview with the Music Scholarship Committee or submit a videotaped audition in the early spring of their senior year. Contact the music department to schedule this audition. This award is renewable each year with the endorsement of the music department stipulating a student has met satisfactory performance expectations.
