The National Achievement Scholarship, in the amount of $2,500 per year, is offered to the top high school senior scorers on the PSAT who mark Section 14 on the PSAT/NMSQT answer sheet, thereby identifying himself or herself as Black American. This award can be used in addition to an Academic Achievement Scholarship, but when combined cannot exceed the cost of tuition. The National Achievement Scholarship can be used for eight consecutive semesters. Students must submit an application for admission by March 1st to be eligible for the award. Additionally, a copy of the letter or certificate officially declaring National Achievement status must be provided to the Office of Financial Aid.

Description
Up to 20 National Merit Finalists will receive full tuition scholarships. Finalists who wish to be considered for this scholarship should name UD as their first choice school with the National Merit Corporation by March 1. In the event that scholarships are still available after that date, students will be able to select UD as their first choice institution and be considered for the scholarship after that date. This scholarship is inclusive of all other scholarships and grants offered through UD and is based on the competitiveness of the applicant pool. This scholarship is renewable annually.
