Description
State law provides that the highest ranking graduate from Texas high schools accredited by the Texas Education Agency are entitled to a tuition exemption during their freshmen year at Texas A&M University. No formal application is required. If qualified for this exemption, you must present a copy of your official Texas Education Agency Highest Ranking High School Graduate declaration to Scholarships & Financial Aid at Texas A&M University before the 12th class day for both fall and spring exemption or by 12th class day in spring for spring only exemption. An official final high school transcript showing student ranked #1 in his or her class must also be on file with Admissions before the exemption can be applied.

Students selected as Century Scholars are awarded $20,000 over four years, as well as a $1,000 Study Abroad Stipend. Corps of Cadets scholarships range in value from $1,000 to $10,000 and carry no military obligation. You can receive a Corps scholarship in addition to other scholarships (ROTC, University, Hometown club, etc.). The Texas Armed Services Scholarship (TASSP) has been created to assist promising students from throughout the state who are committed to education and service. It encourages young leaders to participate in the Texas Guard, Army National Guard, or Air National Guard, or to become commissioned officers in the United States armed services. Eligibile candidates must be on track to graduate high school in a Distinguished Achievement Program or International Baccalaureate program; maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale; be ranked in the top third of graduating class.

Approximately fifteen to twenty nominees from a pool of applicants who receive the President?s Endowed Scholarships may earn privately awarded stipends in addition to the President?s Endowed Scholarship, which in some cases covers the full cost of tuition, fees, room and board. Scholarship decisions are made by the Craig and Galen Brown Foundation. Applicants are notified within first 2 weeks of December if they are being considered. Preference is given to Engineering, Business, Science, Agriculture and Life Sciences, and Liberal Arts applicants.
