Academic Merit Scholarships are awarded to students as they enter Regent?s School of Psychology & Counseling. The awards are determined at the point of admission ? no application is required. Students whose undergraduate or graduate academic records show strong academic potential may qualify. Academic Merit Scholarships are awarded as a flat amount per semester. Factors weighed in awarding these scholarships include MAT or GRE scores, undergraduate GPA, graduate GPA (if applicable), rigor of the undergraduate program, and undergraduate institution and academic accomplishments during undergraduate career. Academic Merit Scholarships are awarded for the duration of full-time enrollment in the SPC and may automatically renew if the student maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 within their graduate program.

The Dooner Scholarship was established by Mr. William J. Dooner, a dedicated Christian supporter of Regent University, who was affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church. In order to assist those Regent University students with Roman Catholic backgrounds in meeting the cost of their education, Mr. Dooner has generously established this scholarship fund. Preference will be given to students showing current affiliation with the Roman Catholic Church. Students are required to submit a letter of recommendation from their current priest. The scholarship is awarded on an academic basis for a maximum of 50 percent of tuition costs. Students must reapply each academic year. Students receiving the Dooner Scholarship may also apply for other financial aid.Requires at least one letter of recommendation from your priest. (No more than three letters of recommendation will be accepted.)

THE FRED W. BEAZLEY SCHOLARSHIP
The Beazley Scholarship fund was established in April 1984, by the chancellor, Dr. M.G. ?Pat? Robertson, in memory of the late Fred W. Beazley. Mr. Beazley was a leading businessman in the Tidewater area and significant supporter of Dr. Robertson?s early ministry. The scholarship criteria emphasize academic merit and residency history. First consideration is given to students from the Tidewater region of Virginia who have excellent academic histories and, otherwise, meet the criteria. However, students with excellent academic histories not from the Tidewater region of Virginia are also encouraged to apply in the event there are not enough suitable applicants from Tidewater for the award. The scholarship is 100 percent of tuition costs plus a book stipend of up to $300 per term.
