Description
Randolph-Macon College offers Army ROTC through the Spider Battalion, headquartered at nearby University of Richmond. Scholarships for full tuition plus additional stipends are awarded by U.S. Army Cadet Command to applicants who have demonstrated their attributes as a scholar, athlete, and leader. ROTC Cadets pursue the academic major of their choice and take one Military Science and Leadership course each semester through a cross-enrollment agreement with the University of Richmond while training to become commissioned officers. Upon graduation they will serve as second lieutenants in the active duty Army, Army National Guard, or Army Reserve.

Dean's Awards range from $8,000 to $18,000 annually ($32,000 to $62,000 over four years), and are renewable each year (for a maximum of four years) if the student maintains satisfactory academic progress.

Description
The $3 million gift from the estate of Dr. Wornom, a 1937 R-MC alumnus, provides pre-med scholarships to two incoming freshmen each year who have demonstrated an interest in pursuing a medical career by gaining medical or community service experience and who excel academically. Wornom Fellows are expected to complete the pre-requisite course work for medical school admission and apply to medical school. Wornom Fellows will have the opportunity to pursue research projects at R-MC, and will work closely with faculty members to develop a research project. They will also have access to and assistance in securing internship and shadowing opportunities, mentorship by a pre-med advisor throughout their college tenure, and assistance with a Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) course. Wornom Fellowships are extremely competitive; successful candidates will be among the top of their graduating high school class with exceptionally strong grades and course selection.

Description
The Jackson Fellowship awards scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 per year to students who plan to major in chemistry at Randolph-Macon College. Students are selected by the chemistry department based on their performance on a chemistry placement exam administered during a Presidential Scholarship interview day. To be eligible, a student must also be the recipient of a Presidential Scholarship; the Jackson Fellowship award will be in addition to the Presidential Scholarship award. Jackson Fellowships are renewable for up to four years, provided the student maintain the academic eligibility of their Presidential Scholarship and remain a chemistry major in good standing.
